Welcome to Simply Green Mama!
I am excited to share with you my passion for a natural lifestyle! A little about me: I am a mother of two, a farmers wife, and a Registered Dietitian. At home I enjoy baking, being with family, exploring outdoors, swimming, running, traveling, and of course…chocolate! At work I teach nutrition and breastfeeding education to pregnant moms and moms with children and infants! I am passionate about living a natural, simple, and affordable life!
Why did I start Simply Green Mama?
I have grown up knowing many people with cancer as well as lifelong ailments and illnesses. Over the years I have made an effort to find ways to decrease my family’s exposure to toxic things. I spend lots of time researching a wide range of topics when it comes to natural living because I want to provide a simply clean and safe environment for my family. I also know living a natural life can, in some ways, be expensive. Because of this, I also enjoy finding ways to save money and make extra money.
When it comes to cooking, I like to create simple and nutritious meals for my family. The recipes I post will be easily adaptable. The reason for making adaptable recipes is because I am currently on a diet free of dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, and gluten. I have been battling eczema and so I am working on changing my diet to see if the gut changes will eliminate my rash. My husband and kids enjoy cheese, eggs, peanut butter and breads so I have learned to create recipes that are easy to adapt for everyone’s needs!
Since I have learned so much and continue to learn more on natural living, I have created this site to provide YOU with tips on living a healthy life as well as ways to save you money! I hope this blog provides you with helpful tips and information that you can use to live a simply green and affordable life! 🙂
